| St. Alban's Centennial Prayer Almighty God, we give You thanks and praise for Your faithfulness to us in the past one hundred years. We are grateful for the blessings of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is faithful to His church. We ask that You would continue, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to guide and direct us in all Your ways, so we may faithfully serve You until our Lord comes again. Amen. The week of August 17th. - August 23rd. 2009, has been chosen as the official Centennial date. The schedule of events is as follows: Monday, August 17th. at 7:30 p.m. in the Resource Center: Meet and Greet; History Display; Variety Table. Tuesday, August 18th. at 10:30 a.m. Meet in the Resource Center. There will be a family "Parade And Picnic". Bring your own lunch. The picnic will be at the ball field. Wednesday, August 19th. at 2:00 p.m. Flower Service beginning in the Old Cemetery and proceeding to the New Cemetery. 7:30 p.m. G.F.S. social gathering at the Resource Centre. Thursday, August 20th. at 10:30 a.m. Meet in the Resource Center - Scavenger Hunt. 2:30 p.m. in the Resource Center - A.C.W. afternoon tea. 7:30 p.m. A.Y.P.A. candlelight service at St. Alban's Church. Friday, August 21th. - Any rescheduled event. Saturday, Aug. 22nd. at 6:00 p.m. in the Beothic Arena: Celebration Banquet followed by a social hour. Non-alcoholic beverage. Music by Dean Knee. The menu: A Hot Roast Beef Dinner. Dessert. Choice of beverage - Tea or coffee. Cost: $20.00 per person, $15.00 for children 12 yrs. and under. Sunday, August 23rd. at 10:30 a.m. in St. Alban's Church: Celebration Eucharist followed by lunch in the S.U.F. Lodge. Memorials: To be printed in the flower service bulletin. Anyone wishing to have a loved one remembered, please call Shirley at 536 - 2134 or email shirleyp@nf.sympatico.ca before August 9th. Unlike our Christmas memorials, only the loved ones' names (not the names by whom they are remembered) will be printed. You may purchase tickets from any committee member. A firm deadline for the purchase of tickets is July 15th. 2009. This will allow the Caterers time to purchase the necessary supplies. It is important to let your family and friends know as soon as possible as tickets will be sold on a first come basis. We are still looking for a picture of St. Alban's Church before the extension was added. If you no longer have family in the area, we will try to assist you in finding accommodations.
